District Sales Manager's Job Description

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible & Accountable for:

  • Recruiting, Hiring and Retention of quality Store Managers (always use the Manager’s Job Description to assist you in determining the criteria)
  • Motivating, training and coaching of all Store Managers within their District and ensuring that they in turn motivate, train and coach their teams.
  • To achieve sales and wage budgets, and to control store expenses in order to achieve maximum profitability
  • To implement strategies and monitor sales, customer service, visual and adherence to company policies


Within the constraints of Vivah Jewellery’s policies and organizational structure the District Sales Manager has the authority to:

  • Hire, position and train her/his Management sales team
  • Merchandise the stores according to Visual Standards & Sales Productivity
  • To control budget guidelines to ensure efficient operation of the District
  • Issue Praise, Redirection or Progressive Counseling letters as needed

The position requires strong skills in the following areas:

  • Human Resource Management – (incl: recruiting,hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and discipline of store personnel)
  • Leadership
  • Organization
  • Analysis
  • Planning & Problem Solving

NATURE & SCOPE

The position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Operations, and has all Store Managers within the District reporting to her/him.

This position requires extensive travel, as well as requiring the incumbent to be available after hours or weekends, should problems arise.

2 Day store visits on an ongoing basis and on a regular cycle is absolutely mandatory in order to develop a strong, well trained, motivated and committed team. Always leave a copy of the store visit with the Manager at the end of the visit and ensure that you have completed Goals & Action Plans with them on the afternoon of the second day. The incumbent is responsible for the effective management of:

  • Sales & Wage Budgets
  • Customer Service
  • Visual Merchandising
  • Recruiting, Hiring and Retention of Store Managers
